Alright, for fairness of all parties on the server, a vote is being pulled for a motion for a server reset with a custom modpack.
Reasons for the motion:
-Current modpack version is unstable, and quite a few of the mods are unstable/cannot be played without crashing the server.
-Current modpack "owner" has been MIA and has not updated the pack to fix instability issues in over a month.
-Current modpack is very intensive on server resources resulting in lag and many instances where users simply cannot build extensive farms to their liking because of server lag.
-There are multiple critical errors in the modpack that result in excessive lag from simple mechanics as well as bugs/glitches that hinder gameplay.
I for one, am generally against a reset, however I do see the benefits in this situation. The proposed resolution would include possible options of:
-Moving the current world data into the new modpack - This would result in some funky world gen, any new mods would have no items in currently generated chunks, and mods that are removed would obviously be missing from the world. Possible odd item value glitches resulting in obtaining items of same item value that should not be obtainable.
-MC edit/ World edit - Existing structures edited into the new world to mitigate some of the loss of restarting (i have a little experience with MC edit, and with some trial and error, could probably pull this off) All other chunks not included in the world edit would be newly generated and would have new mod configuration world gen.
-Clean restart - Easiest option, also greatest loss, this would simply be a clean start, everyone goes from scratch. This would offer a good community feel and encourage teamwork and collaboration.
I understand some players are heavily against a reset, and i acknowledge this. I feel this vote is the most fair way to account for the concerns. I am not simply looking for a majority vote (say 55/45) I am looking for an overwhelming majority vote (greater than 75%? maybe higher?)
The new modpack would be created by one of our own, and would be continually updated/have reactive troubleshooting. I have been working with Lordarmand83 on Modpack ideas, and he has experience with creating modpacks.
Please post below if you are for or against a reset, and *IF* we were to reset, your priority in the above options (example: clean reset highest, with attempt to move world lowest or a mix of them)
And for the sake of ideas, please post any Mods that you would find hard to live without (as well as ones you want to try), so that we may include them in the new modpack if that is the direction we go.
